Astonishing! Did Monks in the Mountains of Nara Beat Pasteur by 500 Years? Uncovering a Technology That Was Centuries Ahead of Its Time.
The roots of the sake you enjoy tonight lie right here. This is the untold story of Japanese science and passion—one you won’t find in any history book.
The Mission / Concept
I Spent Years on the Island of Awamori. So Why Did Nara’s Sake Shake Me to My Core?
Nara is the True Birthplace of Sake.
Discovering this fact upon moving here felt like unearthing a ‘buried treasure’—one often overlooked even by the locals. The sheer weight of history here, and the allure of sake brewed with the very souls of its craftsmen, has yet to be fully shared with the world.
SAKE HERITAGE exists to unearth these ‘hidden stories’ and share them with sake lovers across Japan and beyond.
My mission is to make Nara recognized globally as the ‘Sacred Ground’ of sake.
Kaito Naruse, Founder of SAKE HERITAGE
